Gotcha!

The important role of media in combatting child labor was once again highligthed with the successful "rescue" on a banana packing plant here in Davao City.

An initial complaint sent to ABS-CBN led to the issuance of a court action for a search warrant. The television crew was accompanied by the Department of Labor, City Social Services Development Office and the City Legal Office in the "raid."

I think the Philippine govt. should not only punish the businesses using children as laborers but the parents themselves. Parents are responsible also for sending their kids to work. What in the world are they thinking?! In my opinion, our govt should be stricter on this. It is the same as in the US when a child plays with a gun, the parents get responsible to the police for whatever accident the child must have done.

Anyway, thanks for the info.about child labor.

Best,
